Love Yourself

There is so much more to our health than just the food we eat or how we move our body. Our own well-being is very important to how we live. One way to achieve this is through self-care. Now this can look different for each of us based on our own needs. Self-care is about treating yourself well and showing your own self some love.

This seems like it would be an easy task , but in fact it can be really tough to treat ourselves kindly or even think of our own needs. It seems we aren’t able to slow down and give ourselves a break. The truth however is that this is exactly what we need to do. We should give ourselves rewards for all the hard work we do. Remember this reward is just for you-hence the term self-care. So what you choose is up to you, involving only you.

Self-care requires we focus on our needs in a way that helps us relax and feel good about ourselves. This could involve sitting on the couch reading a book or watching some Netflix, maybe with a glass of red wine or some tea. Some prefer to relax in a peaceful bubble bath or get their nails done or receive a massage. The point here is to choose something that makes your soul happy and allows you time to breathe. No matter what you choose, I recommend putting your phone away and focusing on you for a little bit. Most Sunday mornings I eat my breakfast and drink my tea while reading a magazine. I don’t check my phone for a couple hours because that is my “me”time. I need that quiet sacred time if I am going to be at my optimal best. It allows me to recharge so I can tackle the next week.

So whatever it is you need to do for your “me” time then take it. The world will not fall apart if you give yourself even just a half hour. So today, on Valentine’s Day, give yourself a hug, permission to relax and show yourself the love you deserve.

Wellness Wednesday,

TK

My Year in Therapy

It was time to make the call. It was something I had been putting off, but something I knew I needed to do. It was time to get back into therapy. So, back in January I worked up the courage and looked up mental health providers on my insurance platform. And let me tell you, I was lucky on my first call.

Tell it to Your Journal

Tell it to Your Journal

Writing in my journal has been a habit for me off and on since I was in high school. I don’t have any set routine around it and sometimes I’m not very consistent. I can go months without journaling only to pick it back up when reading a certain spiritual book, working on trauma healing, I need to work something out, or it’s a new moon ritual.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

As a writer, speaker, educator and coach my goal is to help guide people on their own journey to making a wellness lifestyle work for them.

My holistic approach teaches that it’s not just about the nutrition we put into our bodies or our fitness routine, we also need to take care of our own well-being as well.In order to truly live a healthier life we need to realize this is a shift and change in our whole lifestyle and we must cultivate this lifestyle every day.

I’ve learned that getting to this point is not easy and that’s why I’ve made it my mission to help others achieve this healthy and balanced lifestyle for themselves.

It’s not about being on a diet or trying the latest workout trend.

This is about changing your life forever.
